SANDRA MAE HORSMAN

(nee VANHOVE)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandee) Mae Horsman, formerly Vanhove, who left us on July 23, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth, who she has now joined in eternal rest.
Sandee’s legacy lives through her loving children Kelly (Phil), Kristie, Karla (Kevin), and Korine (Neil), and her cherished grandchildren Kiera, Hunter, Konnor, Madison, Mackenzie, and Matthew. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Wilma, and Irene.
Born on October 23, 1947, Sandee was united in marriage to her soulmate Kenneth, in 1970. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family and love. Throughout her life, Sandee worked diligently for Revenue Canada, dedicating herself to her profession until her well-deserved retirement in 2006.
Though often described as shy, Sandee possessed a heart that overflowed with kindness, compassion, and love. Sandee found joy in several hobbies including golf, curling, and indulging in the world of literature as an avid reader. These activities not only brought her happiness but also allowed her to connect with friends and family who shared the same interests.
Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. May your soul find eternal peace mom and may we all find comfort in knowing that you are reunited with dad, watching over us all with your boundless love.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandee’s name to U-Turn Parkinson’s at uturnparkinsons.org

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • It's now 2025 and I feel like it was just yesterday that you passed. I had to do an assignment on something we bought that had importance, of course, I chose a Lego, but I built it right after you passed so every time I look at it, I think of you. It's been so hard not having you here. I remember your laugh so well and your off-key singing. Even though the singing was not the best, I wish I could hear your laugh and off-key singing one more time. I know you are at peace now with Grandpa and drinking your wine without spilling a drop. I love you more. - Posted by: Kiera (Granddaughter) on: Jan 28, 2025

  • She was great to work for and she had a fabulous smile always. Deepest Sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Colleen Champagne (Co worker) on: Jul 28, 2023

  • I am so sorry for your loss. During her time with us at Brightwater, I was fortunate to have had the chance to get to know Sandee over the years. I will miss her very much but will always cherish the memories. My deepest condolences to you all. Ekeen - Posted by: Ekeen (community) on: Jul 27, 2023

  • My sympathy to all the family but especially Kelly and Kristie whom I got to know through 4-H. Your Mom was a very strong, supportive and loving woman. She will be missed! - Posted by: Barbara Larkin (Acquaintance) on: Jul 26, 2023

  • Sandee was a true friend. When I last saw her she was having a "better" even though her had was in a cast. I will truly miss her smile and her laugh. My condolences to her family on the loss of such a beautiful soul. Cindy (Recreation) - Posted by: Cindy Goranso (Friend) on: Jul 26, 2023

  • My sincere condolences to family and friends. Sandee was one of my first supervisors back in the early 1980s. She was smart as a whip and, as a manager, I felt able to come up and speak with her. Sorry to hear she has now passed. - Posted by: Darlene Wall (employee at CRA) on: Jul 26, 2023
