Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROGER ENGELBERTUS DEVRIENDT
Roger Engelbertus Devriendt, passed away peacefully with family by his side Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the age of 84.
Roger was born August 3, 1938 in St. Boniface, Wpg. He was married for 64 years to the love of his life, Stephanie (nee Lucki). Roger was highly respected in his construction career for his knowledge and ability to lead. He started at an early age as a carpenter but moved up quickly to a Construction Superintendent with Baert Construction, and finally as a Project Manager with V.K. Mason. He proudly retired at 52, and enjoyed travelling with his wife until they were unable to. When she was moved to her personal care home (Concordia Place), Roger would visit her across the street every day for lunch, regardless of the inclement weather, even when his motorized wheelchair would get stuck in the snow. Roger touched everyone he met with his friendly smile and kindness. He was loved by all the staff at Concordia Place as well as the staff at his residence of Concordia Village where he showed his appreciation to them with chocolates and coffee cards. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with them.
Roger is survived by his wife Stephanie, sister Lillian LaFleche (Andre), daughter Charlene Scarlett (Eric), son Paul Devriendt (Mary), and his grandchildren, Dayna Lafleur (Simon), Amber Devriendt (Robbie) and Julie Devriendt.
A celebration of his life will be held in the fall of this year when all the family can get together.

Always a pleasure to speak with Roger when he worked for V.K. Mason and I worked at Anthes Equipment. No matter how great or bad the job was going, Roger always had a kind word to say. I remember him well. Condolences to his family. - Posted by: Roxanna Fenning (Associate) on: Jul 29, 2023
