It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Signy Lynne Carson.
She was born in February of 1939 and passed peaceful-ly on July 28, 2023 at the age of 84, after a battle with cancer.
As an only child, Signy is predeceased by her mother, Claire Unnar Watson, and her father, James Latimer Watson.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Signy was a compassionate, loving, and dedicated spouse and mother, imbued with the values of service to others and the communities in which she lived. Signy dedicated countless hours to public service and volunteer work with organizations that focused on helping young children succeed, newcomers acclimate to a new culture, and those looking to further their education, among other causes.
Signy provided a light, supportive, and reassuring hand to those she touched. Her tremendous sense of humor and her spirit of kindness will be sorely missed by all who crossed her path.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Carson and two sons, John W. Carson (Deanne), and Stewart Carson, and grandchildren, Liam Carson and Bryn Carson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th Street, Wilmington, DE, 19806.

I am sorry to hear of her being gone, and on my birthday. She would chuckle about that and say don't let that ruin your day, think of me tomorrow. She was sweet and loving and at times felt like a Mom, she was so proud of her sons and enjoyed the companionship of her grand kids at the lake, she told me so many stories. I'm sorry I missed it as I hadn't seen her for awhile. Angela, Winnipeg. - Posted by: Angela Driedger (Friend) on: Jun 21, 2025

John I am remembering with fondness our teenage years at Gordon Bell. My thoughts and prayers are with you, even as I realize we have not talked these past 60+ years. Stay safe ...🙏 - Posted by: David Knowles ( Childhood friend) on: Jul 29, 2023
