It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved papa, Emile Lambert.
Emile was 84 years young and loved by all! Everyone welcomed his loud, jovial voice and smiling face. He loved to garden and tend to his many plants and flowers at his home in the city, as well as at the homestead in St. Malo.
Family meant everything to Dad. He was always a very involved Pépère to his four grandchildren, and visited with his brothers and their families often. Over the last few years he was also a full time caregiver to his loving wife of 64 years, Lorraine. Mom and Dad met and married in St. Malo in 1959 and went on to have three daughters; Micheline (Sheldon Schlag / Amanda Combot), Christine (Kelsey and Ethan Henderson) and Julie (Ryan Ambrose / Evangeline). He was predeceased by his parents, Ulysse and Anastasie (nee Paquette) Lambert, sister Rita, and brothers Leo and Julien.
Dad worked hard as an iron worker his entire career and was able to retire at the age of 53. He always kept himself busy working on many home projects and helping family and friends with theirs. He was never bored! He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Dad loved all sports. We could talk hockey, football, and baseball, and he especially loved to watch his granddaughter Eva play soccer, paying her in $20s for her goals. He also loved to spend time with his grandkids, playing crib, listening to their music, and talking about their lives. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

With sorrow and sadness I received the news of passing of my friend, neighbour Emil Lambert whom I felt like a father with all his kindness, help and smiles when I saw him watering his garden or bicycling even when I heard him speaking French with his gusts. I will miss him a lot. Emile is the best human being I ever seen. I lived in Maralbo since 14 years he was the best neighbour ever. He used to put greeting cards for the new years at my door. Such a nice person I don’t think I will see someone like him. I wish he will be in heaven and rested in peace. My condolences to his wife and family. Rose and daughters. - Posted by: Rose (Friend and neighbour ) on: Aug 11, 2023

Lorraine and family, my sincere condolences to all of you during this most difficult time. I have been a Maralbo neighbour for 38 years and thoroughly enjoyed talking with Emile on the front street, on his bike rides in the back lane or when he was out in his garage. He was the kindest man! I will miss my “waves” to him when he was sitting in his chair in the front window! He will be missed. May you all cherish the memories you have and the love he gave you! Rest in Peace Emile. Margaret (#51) & Keith - Posted by: Margaret (Neighbour ) on: Aug 09, 2023

I met Emile 19 years ago when I moved onto Hindley Avenue. He was such a wonderful caring man. Always ready to help a neighbour. My deep condolences to his family and although I moved to a different part of the city I thought of him often. - Posted by: Janis Hutchinson (Friend) on: Aug 08, 2023
