MONIQUE ALLARD

(nee HOUDE)

1941 - 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Monique. Mom passed away peacefully at Copper Ridge Place after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on July 29, 2023.

Monique is predeceased by her husband Maurice Allard (1997) and is survived by her loving partner, Henri Halotier, siblings Fleurette, Pauline, Julien, and Emile, children Lise, Philip, Carmen, and Jocelyne, grandchildren Nolan, Coard, Peter, Amanda, Kayla, and Dawson, and great-grandchildren Scarlett, Parker, Eliana, Lucas, and Henry.

Monique grew up in Bernard and then Elie, Manitoba. She spent many years teaching, and raised her children while also completing her education degree.

Monique moved to Whitehorse in 1991 in search of new adventures, after surviving cancer in 1989. In Whitehorse, she met Henri, her loving partner. Henri was very devoted to Mom and loved and cared for her the entire time she battled her disease.

Monique will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

We wish to thank the staff at Copper Ridge Place who so gently cared for mom in her final days.

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I cherish the memories of the friendship and many sleepovers that I spent with Carmen and her family in my youth. My shared loved for their horses inspired me to follow my dreams of owning my own horse in my later years. The times that I spent with their family were the most happy and joyous times in my formative years. I pray that both their parents rest in peace and that they know how much their relationship impacted me in my adult life. - Posted by: Lydia St Cyr (Friend) on: Oct 23, 2024
