• My heart broke when I got the news that my dear friend Rene had passed away. Rene has been a friend and a co-worker for the past 10 years. He often accompanied me to my son’s Winnipeg Blues games and he was always interested to hear any updates on his hockey career. Rene also was my weekly flyer scanner and advisor. He knew what things I always got when they were on sale and he made sure to keep me posted. My Thanksgiving and Easter hams will not taste the same without him! Rene was the kind of person who knew that life was about the journey and not the destination! He made sure that he did his rounds throughout the day at work greeting everyone he came across. He would always know a little bit about each person and made sure to personalize his greetings. For me, he always tried to take care of me. He would leave me notes reminding me to take my sale items home. He would call me with all sorts of updates on his family and just what he had been up to that day. • He was the hardest working man when it came to farm work. He loved his sports and would attend most of the games when he could get away. He was very funny and loved making people laugh.
