NANCY LEA SILK
Nancy passed away in her sleep on August 3, 2023, at Park Manor Nursing Home at the age of 88 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Emile and Grace Decock and three sisters, Lucy Johnson, Joan DeSutter and Marlene Derzak, Nancy is survived by her husband, Clarence, sons Tim (Maureen) and Rory, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Nancy grew up in St. Boniface and attended King George V School. She was very proud of her Belgian ancestry. Nancy and Clarence were married on August 2, 1952, and lived on McMeans Avenue West in Transcona for many years, where they raised their family. They later enjoyed apartment life at Appleton Estates on Niakwa Road, until poor health necessitated a move to Park Manor.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street. Interment will follow at St. Vital Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Park Manor Nursing Home for everything they did for Nancy during the time she resided there.

My sweet Aunt Nancy. I've always felt loved like a daughter. We were separated by the miles but never distant. She was a great letter writer and only a call away. We would get our visits in when I was in Winnipeg and pick up where we left off from the last visit or chat. She was a kind, caring person and hated the term whatever, lol. So "Whatever"Aunt Nancy, I love you more. You will be missed. My heart goes out to Uncle Clarence and family. - Posted by: Carol Berndsen (Niece) on: Aug 07, 2023
