Gerry passed away at the age of 71 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC, with his wife Brigitte at his side. Julie and David were able to spend time with their Pa during his final days.
He is predeceased by infant son Marc and granddaughter Sylvie.
He is survived by his wife Brigitte, and children Julie, Jeff, and Kaylin of Carrington, North Dakota and David, Jenna, Noah, and Zoe from Calgary, AB. He is also survived by Brother Rick, Anne, and their children and families from Alberta. He is also survived by Brigitte’s siblings, Henri, Gus, and Gisele Veronique and their children and families from Winnipeg, MB. Gerry also leaves three aunties and one uncle as well as many cousins and friends. Gerry will also be missed by his faithful dog Rocky, his companion for 14 years.
Gerry started his career at CN at age 17 and took early retirement at the age of 51. Gerry was also involved in fostering adults and children.
Gerry loved to travel, camp and cook, as well as buying and selling houses. He helped build two of our homes. For the past six years, Gerry loved exploring Vancouver Island.
A celebration of Life will be held in Winnipeg at CanadInns - 1034 Elizabeth Rd. on August 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
