ZAN LYON
On August 5, 2023, Zan passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Evelyn Lyon.
Born in Winnipeg, Zan was raised in Windsor Park where he made lifelong friends. He met his future wife, Carol, and they moved to Oakville, ON, where they raised two daughters. Zan loved going for walks, telling stories and corny jokes. He was a supporter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, TFC, and the Blue Jays. Superstitious, he always felt they played better when he wasn’t watching. Zan loved sitting on his backyard deck with a drink in hand surrounded by friends and family. Even Guinness the cat was welcome.
Zan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol; daughters, Caitlin (Victor) and Lindsay; sister-in-law Diane Loxton (Bill); nieces, great-nephews and great-niece.
A memorial service will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home in Oakville on August 14.
As Zan was a supporter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the family requests donations in lieu of flowers.

My condolences to Carol and her family. Although I didn't know Zan for very long before Carol and Zan left Winnipeg, I was pleased to know that my friend Carol had met and married a really nice guy. - Posted by: Marilyn (Schalla) Henschel (friend of Carol) on: Aug 13, 2023
