ISABEL MUNOZ
Grandma passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 21st, 2023, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Isabel was predeceased by her loving husband, Aurelio, daughter Graciella, sisters Candela and Maria Luisa, and sister-in-law Conchi. Left to cherish her memory, her daughter Begonia, grandson Derrick, her sister Isi, sisters in-law Rosa and Pilar, and countless nieces and nephews in Spain, Germany, and the U.S.A.
Grandma was born in the small village of Berzocana in rural Spain and came from a very humble upbringing. Moving to the big city of Madrid as a teenager, my grandmother met the love of her life, my grandfather. My grandparents decided to embark on an adventure with two young daughters, and immigrated to Canada in 1968. Grandma loved her new home. Grandma was proud of the life she built here; her house she worked so hard for, and family she cared for more than anything else. Grandma had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, knitting, traveling, and enjoying meals with family and friends. Grandma had such a love for life, which was impacted due to recent declining health. She was always an optimist and would say "we will do that when I get better". My grandmother was built differently. She was the strongest person in my life and still living independently at 90. I love you, Grandma, and will miss you for the rest of my life. Grandma had a strong faith, and I can only hope she is reunited with family that she has missed deeply.
A very grateful thank you to all of Grandma's wonderful homecare workers, including Coco and Rebecca. You all made such a special impact on her quality of life, and I thank you so much for that.
A special thank you to her beloved niece Susie in Florida. Grandma enjoyed many long phone calls with you, especially during this last year where mobility was more difficult.
A private service will be held for family.

Derek and Begonia: We are really sorry to hear about the passing of tour Mother and Grandma. She was such a good friend to us. We enjoyed many meals at her home. She was always so welcoming and kind and unselfish. She made the most lovely coffee and especially her Flan was to die for. I pray for you both at this very difficult time in your lives. Take care and hope to see you sometime. Please come and visit. Love and God Bless Chris and Colleen - Posted by: Chris and Colleen Siouce (Friends) on: Aug 26, 2023
