Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS (PAT) JANE PALSON
Pat passed away with her family by her side at St. Boniface Hospital. Over the past few months, she shared her reassurance that she would always love and care for us. A sacred fire has been lit and will burn for four days to light her way to the spirit world.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jane and Adam Collins; husband George; siblings, Margaret, Anna, Henry, Caroline, and Freddy; and her great-granddaughter Teelah Blue.
Mom will be greatly missed and is survived by brother Russel; her children, Patsy (Ovide), Daniel (Maureen), and Mae (Jamie); grandchildren, Jasmine (Darren), Jade (Andrew), Tricia (Travis), George, Keewatin (Del), Jemma, Sara (Dustin), and Teanna (Brodie); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Amellie and Daisy; also, niece Dianne who visited often and helped care for Mom in her last days; as well as many, many close family members and friends.
Pat’s mother Jane passed away giving birth to her at Loon Straits located on Lake Winnipeg. She was then raised by her sister Caroline who then had sons Johnny and Clarence (Kinky) who considered Pat as their sister. She met her husband George in Ninette then made a home with their family in Riverton. Pat raised her family, worked at Hecla and was a house parent for northern students. She was a mover and shaker in the Native Ministries by participating in the women’s and choir groups until her passing. She was known for her kindness and ability to adapt herself to adverse circumstances.
She was very proud of her growing family that she created with George keeping up with everyone’s life providing elder advice and comfort that was appreciated. We will miss her amazing smile and laughter like no other. Love you, Mama.
A service will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford Street, in Winnipeg, MB at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, September 1, 2023. Lunch will be served after the service.

Pat had such a lovely sunny personality… always a smile on her face, with accompanying kind words and actions! While I was still recovering from foot surgeries and in a wheelchair on my way to choir practice, she would insist that I stop and let her push me the rest of the way. That’s just an example of what she was like, and we will miss her in choir and at BP. It was a pleasure knowing her. - Posted by: Lillian Toews (Friend & Fellow Choir Member at Bethel Place) on: Aug 31, 2023
