Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES DOUGLAS STEVENS
Jim passed away suddenly on August 27, 2023. He was born in Winnipeg on December 12, 1948 to Grace and Doug Stevens.
Left to mourn his passing is his sister, Joan Christianson, and his nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother Jack.
Jim spent most of his life in the Weston area of Winnipeg, attending the Cecil Rhodes Schools and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He held many jobs but the primary focus in his life was the Masonic Order. He was passionate about the history and philosophy of the Masons and enjoyed the structure of the rites and deeply appreciated the fellowship. Jim also enjoyed singing and could not resist participating joyfully in karaoke. He often enjoyed the camaraderie of the Brooklands and Weston Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Jim was a gentle spirit making his way in a harsh world. For many years, when asked how he was doing his reply was "Oh I'm doing the best I can with what I got under the circumstances."
A private interment is planned with no formal ceremony. Any donations to Jim's memory can be made to the charity of your own choosing. Remembrances can be shared on his tribute page at ethicaldeathcare.ca.

My condolences to Jim's family. Jim was a good friend, who always took the time to stop and speak with me. We had many in-depth conversations at the Weston Legion, over a couple "cool ones". I will miss and certainly remember Jim. Rest In Peace, my friend. - Posted by: Jim Clemis (Friend) on: Sep 20, 2023

I knew Jim growing up in Weston and attending Cecil Rhodes and Daniel Mac. Jim was always a friend indeed and always such a happy person. He will be dearly missed. - Posted by: Bill Kee (Class mate friend) on: Sep 17, 2023
