Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON MARGARET MARRESE
Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Marrese on September 13, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Born June 23, 1949, in Winnipeg, to Winnifred (Unie) and John Charles Heath, Sharon is survived by her beloved son Christopher (Linda) and her cherished granddaughters Sydney and Kelsey. Sharon will be fondly remembered by her wonderful brothers John (Jane) and George (Nancy) Heath. She was an aunt to Geoff (Camille) Heath and Jillian (Andrew) Lajeunesse and great-aunt to Oliver and Adalyn Lajeunesse.
Sharon was born and raised in Winnipeg. Her personal sense of style was certainly on display in her high school years with her fantastic hair styles and later with the fashionable outfits she lovingly curated for her granddaughters, always their favourites. Known for her beautiful smile and easy laugh, Sharon’s determination and drive for independence were hallmarks of her life.
As a single mother, Sharon devoted her life to raising Chris and was immensely proud of his achievements. After working at TD Bank for 20+ years, Sharon independently retrained herself and joined the City of Winnipeg finance department for another 13 years. Upon retiring, she enjoyed gardening, watching movies, and cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. She frequently visited her brother John in Victoria, BC, and her son and his family in Waterloo, Ontario. Sharon adored her granddaughters and filled her house with their pictures and artwork. She kept every card, drawing and painting that they made for their much-loved Granny.
We are forever grateful to her brother George for his tireless care and support of Sharon in her final years.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Wojcik’s All Beliefs & Faiths Funeral Chapel (Portage Avenue), 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 0L4.
In lieu of flowers, the Marrese and Heath families ask that those who wish to express sympathies please consider donating to the Canadian Lung Association.

I fondly remember Sharon!! Alicija O., Laurette W., Sharon M. & I were "bus buddies". The 4 of us took the local transit bus downtown to work each week from Monday through Friday together!! My husband passed away in 2015 so I moved back to Ontario to be closer to family. I went back to Winnipeg in June 2017 and the 4 of us got together for lunch. Good times, good friends, good memories. Rest in peace Sharon!! - Posted by: Agnes Lapinskas (Bus buddy) on: Oct 03, 2023

I am so very sad to hear about my friend passing away. Sharon has been my friend for many years. Her son Christopher and my late daughter Cindy Crossman were friends from Mini School. Sharon was a wonderful friend, we went to many dances and pubs together and sharing babysitting costs. We also worked together at the TD Bank together. I will miss my dear friend so very much. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Sandy Hart (Friend and coworker for years.) on: Oct 03, 2023
