MAE RUSSELL
After a brief illness and surrounded by family, it is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mae Russell on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84.
She was married for 50 years to her late husband, Glenn. Predeceased by her brother, Jim.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri and Lynda (Andy); her sister Irene; numerous nieces and nephews and her grandchildren, Christine and Alexander that she adored. She was a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mom emigrated from Scotland as a child and although she loved Canada and her life here, her heart always belonged to Scotland. Mom had so many friends and she loved her time in Linden with our dad and then after his passing, she moved to her apartment in the city and was part of the ladies “Sunshine Club.” She later moved to Dakota House and made more friends! She loved her WII bowling every week and saw every episode of Coronation Street!
Cremation has taken place, and a spring internment will occur for friends and family. Special thank you to Dr. Reda and the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
