We just heard of Rick's death from his former place of work at Credential Securities. We were indeed taken aback. I echo the same sentiments expressed above by former clients. He was, indeed all that. May he rest in peace. I will have a Mass said for him at Christ the King Church. Grief carves a long niche in most of us and I am sure that his second year anniversary will bring the wellspring of so many good memories. - Posted by: Orval and Frances Everett (client) on: Jun 02, 2025

I was so sorry to hear of Rick’s passing. I had dealt with him for over 20 as a vendor to his financial practice . I always enjoyed our meetings and took comfort in knowing that he worked so hard for his clients. I know that he was looking forward to retirement to be able to spend more time with family and friends. I am hoping that even though that time was short it was enjoyable. I will miss him. - Posted by: Aaron Dubnicoff (Client/Friend) on: Oct 12, 2023

Condolences to Rick’s long time partner and family. I first met Rick in university where we became friends working on class projects together and socializing at bars on the weekends. One of his favourite places was a bar in the exchange district called Bogarts. He loved to meet new friends there, his social skills were on full display there. I was his “wingman”. I still remember a trip we took to Toronto to see a music concert. We drove all night taking turns sleeping. It was a great concert. We also saw Terry Foxes motorcade along the Trans Canada highway on our way to Toronto. I’ll miss Rick’s friendship. - Posted by: Wayne Lang (Friend ) on: Sep 29, 2023

I am so saddened to learn of Rick's recent passing. I was a long-time client of his during his tenure with Credential Securities Inc. Over a lengthy period of time, slightly in excess of two decades, Rick was my trusted financial advisor. He was knowledgable, dependable, and assisted me greatly concerning my financial affairs and goals. Over the years, I benefitted from his sage advice and came to rely on same extensively. Rick was always quite approachable and it was a pleasure to deal with him at all times. Over the passage of time, we also came to be on quite friendly terms with each other. I wish to extend my deepest condolences to his family members and loved ones. Donald Melnyk - Posted by: Donald Russell Melnyk (long-time client) on: Sep 28, 2023
