GEORGE LESLIE MCKITRICK

 

 


Leslie McKitrick, born in 1930 in Crystal City, MB passed away peacefully September 18, 2023 at Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound.
He leaves to mourn his sister Ruth, her husband Bill, and several nieces and nephews.
In 1964, Les took over the home farm until he retired and moved to his new home in Crystal City in 1997.
During his lifetime he remained an active community worker - a cadet leader, Sunday school teacher, board member and choir member of the United Church as well as a member of the Parkview Lodge board. He also enjoyed flying his Cessna in his spare time. He was dedicated, in caring for both of his parents, Cecil and Margaret McKitrick, and when his sister, Dorothy, had cancer, drove to Brandon weekly to visit her.
When his health deteriorated he moved to Prairie View Lodge.
Our heartfelt thank you to Perry and Colleen Gemmill and Bill and Cheryl McKitrick for their outstanding and ongoing help.
A memorial service will be held at Rock Lake Pastoral Charge on October 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Crystal City, with the Rev. Chewe Mulenga officiating.
Donations in memory of Les may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd. Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5, Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7or the Prairie View Lodge Foundation, 424 Broadway Ave., Pilot Mound, MB R0G 1P0.

  • We were very saddened to hear of Les’s passing! We have very warm memories of cousin Les over the years!!! We extend our deepest sympathies to Ruth and Bill and family and all of Dorothy’s family, and to Cheryl and Bill and Perry and Colleen. We also want to say a huge, heartfelt Thank You to Cheryl and Bill and Perry and Colleen for their deep and dedicated relationships with Les and all their many hours of love and care and help they gave to Les throughout the years. You all enriched his life greatly!! Les will be remembered with great fondness! We are very sorry we are unable to attend his celebration of life as we are unfortunately out of province.
