Robert was predeceased by his mother and father, Rose and Haldane Robertson, sister Betty Gales, nephew Kerry, and in 2010, he lost the love of his life soul mate and best friend, Gloria. After Gloria’s death, Bob lost his zest for life and couldn’t wait for God to call him to her side.
He is survived by sister-in-law Janet Scrapneck; nephews, Rick, Ron (Mary), Rob, and Kim; nieces, Velvet, Shelley (Britt), and Donna, as well as great-nephews and nieces.
Bob started school in Strathclair, MB, and completed his education at Lord Selkirk High School in Winnipeg, where he met his future in Gloria, and devoted his life to her for 55 years.
Bob always had after school and summer jobs, and in 1953 joined R.C.A.F. reserve, training in BC and in summers, exercises in Manitoba and Quebec. Graduating in 1955, he joined Manitoba Telephone Systems as an apprentice, and retired in 1992 as Manager of the Winnipeg Toll Offices.
Bob loved working, building a cottage in Lester Beach for Gloria and himself, where they spent summer weekends and vacations. Activities such as woodworking, photography, and golf kept him busy in his free time. Much energy and love went into crafting many pieces and keepsakes for Gloria.
Bob was much loved and admired by many friends and neighbours. In particular, the family would like to acknowledge the concern, support and care of Julie, Olga, Rudy, Gina, Pat, Valerie, and Bruce.
