On October 2, 2023, at the age of 83, Edward Albert Kendall passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Ed was born in Winnipeg on June 24, 1940, to Frances and Edward Kendall (Sr) of West St Paul.
Ed grew up on the farm and followed in his father’s footsteps and began farming at the age of 16. He operated bulldozers and snowblowers for his dad, building and maintaining the roads throughout West St Paul. Ed continued his entrepreneurial spirit beyond the farm, running his own heavy equipment rental business to keep busy during the winter which led to excavation and landscaping projects and gravel hauling in the summer.
Ed met the love of his life in 1960 and married Nettie Cockerill in November 1962. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed curling and travelling. A true family man, Ed enjoyed taking his family on numerous summer vacations in the United States and at Big Whiteshell Lake. Ed and Nettie continued their travels almost yearly, going on cruises and trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Switzerland and England to name a few.
Ed is predeceased by his parents Ed (Sr) and Frances. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife Nettie; sister, Myrna (Deagnon); Aunt Roz Oddy; children Darrin Kendall, Cheryl (Chris) Hahn, Doug (Robin) Kendall; and grandchildren Sabrina, Dexter, Roxanne, Lynsey and Jesse.
A Celebration of Life was held on October 6, 2023, at Stony Mountain and a private family committal will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
