JACQUES BOHEMIER

It is with great sadness that the family of Jacques announces his passing on September 29, 2023, a week before his 95th birthday.

Jacques was predeceased by his loving wife Annette in 2017 and they are now happily reunited together in heaven.

Jacques will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Lynne Nixon, Richard (Arlie), Pauline Bazin (Bruce) and Carole Bjornson (Ben); his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Ginette (Max), Rene (Melanie and great-grandchildren, Justin and Sophie), Jacques (Christina), Karine (Ryan) and David.

Born 14th into a family of 16, he is survived by his two youngest siblings, Pauline Renning and Bernadette Hartner.

He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many. Dad enjoyed his time at the cottage in Lac du Bonnet where he loved fishing and smoking goldeye in his homemade smoker. His many relatives requested and reaped the rewards of his hard work. He also enjoyed building bird houses and feeding "his birds" every morning. Dad was an avid golfer who was proud to say that he had four holes in one and golfed his last game the day after his 93rd birthday.

To all of his nieces, remember, you were the "favourite".

Our family would like to thank the staff at Dakota House Victoria Hospital for their kindness, compassion and support.

Cremation has taken place and in keeping with his wishes, a private celebration will take place.

We love you dad.

  • J'essaye à nouveau d'ajouter mes commentaires. Oncle Jacques était toujours très encourageant. Je le voyais chez papa Gaston, quand il travaillait pour Greater Winnipeg Gas comme inspecteur, je crois. J'ai acheté de lui mon premier bicycle pour $5.00. À ce temps là, oncle Jacques vivait sur la rue Champlain, tout près de l'Église Holy Cross.C'était un bicycle qui avait les pneus larges. Ce fût très utile pour moi, car je pouvais l'utiliser en hiver pour aller servir la messe chez les Soeurs du Saint Nom de Jésus et Marie. Elles étaient situées à côté de l'académie St. Joseph, sur l'Avenue de la Cathédrale. Maxyne et moi prions pour vous tous en deuil.   • One of my early memories of Oncle Jacques was when he would drop in for surprise visits on 38 Arundel Road where Ernie and I lived as newly weds. I always enjoyed these surprise visits. He was a very outgoing and friendly uncle. We want to offer our most sincere condolences to Lynn, Richard, Pauline et Carole and their families and also to his two sisters, Pauline and Bernadette.   • Remembering many visits with Jacques and Annette and the gang over the years gone by. Our children got to know Monsieur Bohemier when he would drop in for coffee. Remembering Jacque’s visit to my classroom. He showed the students how he built bird houses. He described and showed colourful pictures of the birds that were familiar in his cottage area.
