LEONA GLOVER
With profound sadness, but relief that her struggle has ended, we announce the passing of Leona (Nonsie) Bernadette Glover (nee Vatrt) at the Red Deer Hospital in Alberta on August 23, 2023 after her battle with cancer.
She was the beloved “baby girl” of Patricia Vatrt and the late Louis Vatrt Sr. She is forever remembered and loved by her husband Neil; son Wyatt (Jenna); siblings, Terry, Laurie, Marion (Hank), Louis (Shayne) and Tom (Jo-Anne); along with her aunt Rita (Tom); uncle Jim (Davetta); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We are thankful and appreciate the staff at the Red Deer Hospital and the Cancer Care Unit.
Cremation has taken place in Alberta. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 22, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Road, Winnipeg, MB. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to CancerCare in Leona’s honor would be appreciated.

To Neil, Wyatt and the Vatrt family my thoughts are with you all at this very trying time. Leona and I first met as 6 year olds in grade one. We spent those very young years having over nighters and getting to know each others families. As little farm girls, we were always looking for something to entertain us. As Leona became close with other old friends in our group we always remained friends even after butting heads over political views. I do believe Leona has been the first loss from our group of ladies that still get together from school. Even though she didn’t live in Winnipeg, zoom gatherings and face timing was wonderful especially during Covid. Rest in peace Leona, you will always be with us. 💕🙏🏼 💐 - Posted by: Nancy King (Wasylishen) (Old friend) on: Oct 14, 2023
