Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE STANLEY DEMANSKI
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Demanski.
Wayne leaves behind his sister Marlene Roche (Bob); his nieces, Patricia Roche (Robby) and Joanna Loveless; and many relatives. Wayne had a very special relationship with his sister Daisy Hagemann in Germany for 30 years, who misses him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Demanski (2010) and Stanley Demanski (1998).
Wayne grew up in Winnipeg in the Weston area, then attended Sisler High School in the North End. Many family car trips were made in winter and summer to visit relatives and friends in Shoal Lake, Brandon, and Killarney, MB.
He worked at many jobs in the 1970s including as a delivery driver for the WFP to Kenora and operating a mobile brake truck. He changed careers in the 1980s to work as a salesperson at Eaton's, The Bay and Leon's Furniture.
Many friends and memories were made hanging out at "The Hook" (Lincoln Motor Hotel).
In 1989, Wayne obtained his 3rd Class Power Engineers' Certificate and he worked for the WSD#1 until his retirement.
Wayne was a seriously avid reader and borrowed many many books from the Winnipeg Public Library. He was a seriously avid reader, constantly expanding his knowledge.
Wayne lived life on his own terms, with no apologies.
As per Wayne's wishes, no service will be held. A family potluck dinner will be held in the near future.

So sorry to hear about Wayne, condolences to his family. Wayne and I were close friends in high school and outside of school too. We'd often go to his place for lunch and plan ways to antagonize Mr. McCullough! I managed to avoid a trip to his 'back office' in room 74. I'm not sure if Wayne was so lucky. I remember we went to the 'Red Feather' football game together at the Winnipeg Stadium, and that same night were chased by a group of thugs to Polo Park where we hid out in the bowling alley in the basement, successfully! Whether it was getting into trouble or just playing football at Frank Whyte, Wayne was always one of my favorite friends. I wish now that I had a chance to talk to him in person approaching our golden years. So long Wayne, it was fun. - Posted by: David Coffell (close friend) on: Oct 14, 2023

AWW, it's so sad to see that Wayne has passed. We lost touch after Wayne moved from Seymour Street where we used to have taco & beer parties and on the weekends drive to Winnipeg Beach for some more partying, GREAT TIMES! My condolences go out to Marlene. R.I.P Wayne. - Posted by: William (Billy) Elliott (Friend) on: Oct 14, 2023
