Peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, Gwendolyn Odidison, went home to be with the Lord. Gwendolyn was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-Christ.
Gwen is preceded by her brother, Dell, her mother, Kathleen, and her beloved husband of 45 years, Daniel. Gwendolyn is survived by her five children, Elaine, Marjorie (Ian), Kenneth (Donnette), Pamela (Jean-Claude), and Beatrice; her two sisters, Claudette, and Nancy; and her 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Born on September 1, 1946, in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, Gwen enjoyed going to school, spending time with her family, and worshipping at her local church. Gwen emigrated to Canada in August 1973, and married her soulmate, Daniel, after a brief courtship. Gwen found her talent and applied that working for CFS for over 20 years, positively impacting many families. Sister Gwen loved to cook, counsel, and pray, and she was passionate about the children's ministry she co-founded 25-years ago, Jehovah Jireh. Vibrant, strong-minded, and incredibly loving, Gwen, was always available to help those in need so they would always feel cared for.
Gwen will live in our hearts and minds forever, and we will honor her memory by following the Godly example she set for our family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charitable organization, Jehovah Jireh Children's Ministry. Gwendolyn's memorial service will on Thursday October 19 at 1:00 p.m. at New Anointing Christian Fellowship, 1425 Manitoba Avenue.
