NIEL MCKECHNIE

August 22, 1937 - October 25, 2023

Niel left us peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2023.

Niel was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and Walter. He is survived by his wife Fran; daughters, Charlene (Rick) and Sherri (Mike), and sister Dorothy.

Niel was born in Winnipeg and worked at MTS for 41 years. Previous to his retirement he golfed with his buddies every Thursday at Tuxedo Golf Course.

Niel loved sports. He curled, umpired baseball, bowled and enjoyed all TV sports. He did crossword puzzles with a pen until his vision created problems.

Niel proved himself on a well cut and edged lawn and did all the snow removal with the snowblower and then shovelled for a thorough job.

He lived in the same home almost 50 years and will miss the marvelous neighbours in his life.

Our thanks to all the medical staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, 3rd floor, Units 4 and 7 for their kindness and caring.

If you wish to make a memorial donation, please make it to the charity of your choice.

At his request, there will be no formal service and cremation has taken place.

Niel, you will be lovingly remembered, and missed by your family.
