VIVIAN SIPLEY

Peacefully, on November 11, 2023, with her family by her side, Vivian Rosella Sipley went to be with her Lord.

Vivian was born on December 23, 1934 to James and Muriel Wray, the only daughter of seven children. She was born in Margaret, MB, and lived there until 1938 when the Wray family moved to Angusville. She attended school at Boyle Country School.

Vivian gave her life to God in 1949 when she was 14 years old. She had an unwavering faith and a deep love for God. This was always evident in the way she lived her life. Vivian sought to walk with Jesus every day, reading her Bible and praying in quiet solitude.

In April of 1955, Vivian married Harold Sipley and they settled down to farm near Elkhorn, MB. In 1959, they welcomed daughter Judy to their family. In 1969, they chose two-year-old Dennis to be their son, and their family was complete.

Vivian was a tireless worker and capable partner to Harold on the farm. She also worked at both Elkhorn and Virden hospitals, where she ran the autoclave machine for the OR. This was a job that Vivian loved.

In 1977, they sold the farm at Elkhorn and bought a new home in Virden. Vivian continued to work at the hospital in town for several years after Harold retired.

Vivian was very hospitable and was always pleased to welcome friends, family, and workers to their home. She was a kind hearted and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents, James and Muriel Wray; infant brother, William Wray; brother, Lincoln Wray; brothers-in-law, Lorne Sipley and Lynn Farough; sisters-in-law, Marie Wray, Vera Wray, Aileen Farough, Eileen Sipley, and husband, Harold.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Messinbird), and grandchildren William, Kimberley and Joseph; son, Dennis and daughter-in-law Debbie, grandchildren Angela (Rodney Ricker) Amy, and Ian; brothers, Eugene, Les, Jim, and Lewellyn Wray; brothers-in-law, Allan Sipley and Lindsay Sipley; sisters-in-law, Pearl Wray, Pat Sipley, Marione Seamone and Nonie Wray; many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vivian may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2T5, or another charity of choice.

As Vivian loved her dinners at Chicken Chef more than any other restaurant, please take a moment to cherish her memory next time you enjoy a meal there!

A Funeral Service will be held at the Elks Hall, Elkhorn, MB, on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Elkhorn Cemetery. For those unable to attend the family invites you to watch the livestream of the service for Vivian by going to her tribute wall at www.carscaddenfuneralchapel.com

Arrangements are entrusted to Carscaddens Funeral Chapel
