It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Remigia Gaudio, who passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, at the Grace Hospital.
She was born in Mendicino Cosenza, Italy on August 14, 1935, and immigrated to Sioux Lookout, Ontario in 1956. Remigia married the love of her life Mario on February 2, 1957, with 63 years of marriage.
Remigia was predeceased by her husband Mario in 2020, her mother Maria Conte in 1987 and her father Antonio Conte in 2001. She is survived by her son Gerry (Barbara), granddaughter Maria Mead (Christopher), grandson Jordan Gaudio and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alexandra, Dominyck, Isabella and Keira, three sisters Teresa, Flavia and Clelia, one brother Gennarino (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Pallbearers are Anthony Conte, Joseph Fiorentino, Antonio Chilelli, Ian Hailstone, John Currie and Pasquale Greco. Honorary Pallbearers are Agostino Fiorentino, Joe Chilelli, Anthony Fiorentino, Jordan Gaudio and Christopher Mead.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday November 21, 2023, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, condolences will be offered at 10:00 a.m., funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Father Samuel Argenziano presiding. Entombment in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum - Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
