HILDA (SAWATZKY) PETERS

Hilda, our loving Mom and Nana, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, at Concordia Place in Winnipeg.



She is survived by her family. Her sons and their wives: Gerry and Lonna; Rob and Ellen Peterson, and daughter-in-law Bonnie Peters. She had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Cassidy, husband Alex Koehn, and their daughter Harper; Kayden, wife Brittany and their daughter Eden; Logan, Mason, Carly and Griffin. She also had numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.



She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and her beloved son Michael.

Born February 11, 1930, in Dundurn, Saskatchewan, she grew up on the family farm with parents Johann and Helene (nee Pauls), brother John (Lydia) and sister Bertha (Henry Kroeker). She had happy memories of these times and often recalled that she rode to school on a horse.

After attending secretarial school Hilda moved to Winnipeg, where she worked in various positions until she married Hermann (Hank) Peters (married 1959 to 1994). They had three sons and Hilda devoted all her energies to their upbringing, to church activities, and to being an outstanding cook and baker.



A private memorial will be held at a later date. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Concordia Place for their loving care.
