Thérèse Rémillard (née Damphousse) passed away peacefully on November 12 at the Villa Youville in Ste-Anne.
She is survived by her children: Rhéal (Vivianne Brais) - Julie, Réjean, Marcel, Josée; Irène (Paul Dupuis) - Marc, Andrée, Sylvain, Karine; Emile; Marc (Jeanne Alarie) - Paul, Roxanne, Janelle; Louis (Sharon Bingham) - Miguel, Daphne; and Agnès. She is also survived by her sisters, Françoise, Céline, and her brother Father Georges Damphousse as well as her sister-in-law Fernande. She is also survived by her numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Thérèse was born on May 29, 1928 in Saint Boniface General Hospital the second of six children to Albert and Marie-Louise Damphousse. She married Ambroise Rémillard in July of 1955 and lived her life in St-Joseph for 62 years and eventually moved to Villa Youville in Ste-Anne in 2017. She is predeceased by her husband Ambroise Rémillard, her parents, Albert and Marie-Louise Damphousse (née Jubinville), her brother Paul Damphousse (Fernande), Lucille Damphousse (Grey Nun), Gerard Vermette (Françoise), Cécil Dansereau (Céline). She will be reunited with her baby son Yves. She is also predeceased by her in-laws, Narcisse and Victoria Rémillard, brothers and sisters-in-law, Edmond (Alma Gobeil), Honoré, Yvonne (Wilfrid Jubinville and Philias Godard), David, Michel, Marie-Reine, Angeline (Gerry Lalonde), Marie-Jeanne (Raymond Bretecher), Lucille (Paul Perron), Marie-Flore (Venance Clément). She is also predeceased by her granddaughter Breyann Hammer (Réjean and Kathy).
Mom was a woman of many talents from a young age. She was a crafty homemaker, expert bread maker, sewer, knitter, crocheter and gardener with boundless energy and determination to excel. Later in life, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a weaver and succeeded!
Eulogy will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral mass on November 25 in St-Joseph Catholic Church. A video of the service will be later posted on the Morris Funeral Home website.
The family wishes to thank the Villa Youville staff for their kind support and gentle care of their mother. A special thank-you to relatives and dear friends who visited Mom and shared kind words and lasting memories of Thérèse as well as their heartfelt sympathy.
