Elaine Margaret Therrien (nee Humphries) passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on November 20, 2023, with her husband Albert of 63 years by her side.
She is survived by her loving husband Albert, sons Donald, Curtis, and Richard (Diane), and daughter Michelle (Dave); grandchildren Erica, Tyler, Julian, Sara, Jake, Zach, Nicole, Alex and Samantha; great-grandchildren Owen and Olive; as well as her sisters Peggy (Bill), Barb (Wayne), Lillian (Gary), and Susan; brother Sid (Gail); and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all including her special fur baby Homer whom she adored.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents Ted Humphries and Margaret Bigelow (Ed), brother Gordon Humphries, and mother and father-in-law Ruby and Don Therrien.
Elaine was born in Brandon, Manitoba on August 10, 1944, relocating west a few years after marrying Albert on June 25, 1960. She had many careers in her lifetime but spent most of her years working (retired) for the Golden Hills School Division at Brentwood Elementary School in Strathmore, Alberta, where they have resided for the last 33 years.
Elaine was happiest when her family was around and spent many days and nights watching her grandchildren. She loved the time she spent with them and her children.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Strathmore Hospital Palliative Care Team and the Strathmore Homecare office.
There will be a celebration of life in the spring of 2024
