It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tara-Tami Budolowski at Concordia Hospital on November 18, 2023, at age 88, with her daughter, Sherry by her side.
Tara was born in Glenella, MB to Katherine and Alex Potrebka, the youngest of five children. She leaves behind her husband, Bob, of 69 years; her sister, Anne Stevens (Art Bowden); her daughters, Shannon Davis, Sherry Andrews (Ken Graham), and son, Robert Baker; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Chorney, Amanda (Jonathan) Bernier, Jessie (Bryn) Hyra, Daniel Graham (Kayla Widdifield); and her seven great-grandchildren whom she lovingly adored and brought much joy to her life.
After graduating, Tara pursued a nursing degree at St. Boniface Hospital and worked up North eventually finding herself working in The Pas where she met her husband. They lived in Snow Lake, starting a family there before moving to Winnipeg where she resumed her nursing career working at many hospitals and care homes before reluctantly retiring after 50 years.
Besides her love of nursing, Tara was a passionate baker sharing sweet treats with many, she was one of the best pierogi makers around, and never met a recipe she was afraid to try. She and Bob traveled to England and also made many great road trips exploring Canada and the US with their dog, Teco, a most amiable travel companion. Some of the most joyful times in Tara’s life were when she was dancing to lively Ukrainian music, especially lately during the Saturday night Polka Party (Zabawa).
A Celebration of Life for Tara will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1179 Rothesay Street, 4th Floor Multi-Purpose Room, Winnipeg, MB beginning at 1:00 p.m.
