LINDA MOYSEY

Linda Moysey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the age of 72. Linda‎‎ was‎‎ a‎‎ loving‎‎ wife, ‎mother/‎stepmother, ‎‎grandmother, sister, aunt, ‎‎teacher‎‎ and‎‎ friend.‎‎

Linda‎‎ is‎‎ survived‎‎ by‎‎ her daughter Brittany; her stepsons, Gerry‎ (Charlene)‎ Moysey‎ and‎‎ Craig‎ (Amy‎)‎‎ Moysey; her grandchildren,‎‎ Olivia,‎‎ Grace,‎‎ Maxwell,‎‎ Lukas‎‎ and‎‎ Sophia; her siblings, Tina (Rob) Bailey, Shelley Crawford and Wayne (Leigh) Goodwin; and her sister-in-law Bernie Goodwin.‎ She is‎ predeceased‎ by‎ her‎ loving husband Gerald; her parents,‎ Alexina Robertson and Edmund (Ted) Goodwin; and her brother Theodore (Ted) Goodwin.

Linda was a vibrant, positive person who loved people and she lit up a room with her smile, laughter, and quick wit. Music was a big part of her life. In her younger years she played piano and went on to work at a radio station where her knowledge and passion for music grew. She enjoyed many karaoke nights alongside Gerry Sr., family, and friends. She loved hockey and she and Gerry regularly watched the Winnipeg Jets and attended their grandkids’ hockey games. Linda could find a way to bring her favourite hockey player Frank Mahovlich or the number 27 into any conversation. As a teacher for many years in the River East Transcona School Division, Linda genuinely loved her profession and was proud to play a part in the development of young people, many who were less fortunate. She creatively made her class a fun, exciting, safe space to learn. Her students left a forever impact on her as she did for many of them.

The family would like to acknowledge the truly special care provided by the doctors, staff, and administration at the Fairview Manor in Almonte, Ontario over the past five years.

A private ceremony and celebration of life will be held with immediate family‎.‎

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I want to offer my sincere condolences to the whole Moysey family on your loss. To hear about Gerry Sr's passing was difficult, but to lose them both in such a short time is tragic. During my time with Craig, I remember them being a vibrant and happy couple. Linda was always a warm, welcoming person with an exciting personality. She was always interested in the latest inventions and I loved hearing about her new discoveries on "the Shopping Channel". May her and Gerry Sr. rest in peace and find happiness in the next journey. - Posted by: Michelle Adaire (Maluga) (Acquaintance) on: Dec 11, 2023

  • Our deepest Sympathies to the Moysey families. Russ and Donna Kutzak - Posted by: Donna Kutzak (Acquaintence) on: Nov 27, 2023

  • Linda was my Gr.5/6 teacher at Hampstead School in Winnipeg. She was one of my favourite teachers, always kind and caring and you could always count on her to let you the score on the nights previous hockey game or how many medals we had from the Olympics, she left a lasting impact on me and over the years have thought and reminisced about her to my family. I’m very sorry for your family’s loss, rest easy Mrs. Moysey. - Posted by: Debbie Sanderson (Former Student) on: Nov 27, 2023

  • Dear Family Members! Seeing Linda's smiling face reminded me of the many times that Linda would be in our staffroom at Hampstead School in East Kildonan of Winnipeg. Linda always seemed to be in a very happy mood every day no matter the challenges she might have had in her Grade 6 Classroom. Linda has left us way too soon. It was a shock for me to see her on the obituary page in our Winnipeg Free Press, November 26th, 2023.. We did have E-mail connections for a while after Linda and family moved eastward. I express my condolences to you on the loss of a very beautiful lady. Peace be with all of you. - Posted by: Lorraine Kozera (Colleague) on: Nov 26, 2023

  • Such a beautiful tribute. I met Linda years ago when I first became friends with her daughter Brittany. She always had a big smile on her face when we arrived at the house. Even though I knew her for short period of time, she was battling a horrible disease and still had a spark about her so I can only imagine how vibrant she was in her younger years. Brit used to share stories about how much her parents loved music and memories of her growing up in a home full of love and who she is today is a huge reflection of the wonderful people who raised her. - Posted by: Sara Staniszewski (Friend of family ) on: Nov 26, 2023

  • My condolences to the Moysey family. Gerry Sr. and Linda united again in love, harmony and song. - Posted by: Doug Anthony (Old friend of Gerry Sr.) on: Nov 25, 2023
