Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRALPH RAMCHARITA
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ralph left us on November 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his son Sean (Angela), daughter Lisa, grandchildren, Keagan and Blake, sisters, Judy and Elsa, and granddogs Memphis and Copper. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Ralph was predeceased by his mother and father Surasatiah and Sui Ramcharita, his brothers, Vernon and Frank, and his sisters, Hannah and Sylvia, niece Alana and nephew Garnet.
Dad was born August 24, 1938 in Trinidad. Dad and Mom immigrated to Canada in 1968 and married in Winnipeg, MB in 1969. Their son, Sean was born in 1971, followed by Lisa in 1972. Dad and Mom settled in South Winnipeg and spent the next 54 years raising their family. Dad worked at Motorcoach briefly but spent 29 years working at Victoria General Hospital. During those years, he was very active with the union and was a vital part of the Vic’s recreational committee. Dad was very active guy, coaching soccer, playing volleyball, bowling, curling and had a passion for golf. He loved spending time with family and friends especially his golf buddies. He loved to travel and took many memorable trips with friends to Mexico, Hawaii and other destinations. Papa loved to watched his grandkids play their sports, have his daily walks with Memphis and telling his bad jokes. Dad’s last wish was to visit his beloved home of Trinidad and Tobago but due to pandemic and his own health issues this was not to be. The family would like to thank Dr. JB Sharkey and Dr. B Cohen and their teams for Dads care throughout the years.
Services will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., November 30, 2023, viewing from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Service will commence at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba be made.
