I would spend a number of summers at the Laval farm, and Elaine and I had so much fun. I remember the last summer as teenagers sitting watching the fireflies and Elaine had met you Lyle and she was smitten. The last time I saw Elaine, I was visiting in Deloraine at my Aunt Laura {Carols} and she brought me to your home and the boys were at school. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss< I carry you all in my heart each day. I have been watching Elaines posts on Facebook, I never post, but such a pleasure to see your family. much love Laura - Posted by: Laura Johnston re Van Daele (cousin) on: Dec 04, 2023

We first met Elaine and Lyle several years ago at the Grand Venetian in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I remember how kind and full of fun Elaine was. During a Mexican holiday, the pools at the Grand Venetian were full of young Mexicans tourists playing loud music and generally having fun! Many of the older adults stared at them and complained about their behavior. Dear Elaine saw a bunch of these Mexicans gather in the shallow pool for a photo. She immediately jumped into the pool and stood in the middle of these young individuals for a photo! We loved that about her! She was super fun and loved everyone, no matter their age or nationality!! Lyle and family, we extend our deepest sympathy! She was truly a gem! We will miss seeing her every winter at the Grand Venetian! Hugs and prayers to all! Kay and Greg Erickson Rochester, MN USA - Posted by: Greg and Kay Erickson (Friends) on: Dec 04, 2023

My dear Auntie, We are heartbroken, and still have trouble processing your absence from our lives and the lives of those you loved the most, your husband, your children and their families. When I was a young girl, I was blessed to be told (often) that “you’re just like your Aunt Elaine”! It was a comment I heard on numerous occasions and to this day, I truly consider it an honour and a compliment to have been compared to you, my dear Auntie. Of course, those attributes are now more applicable to your children and grandchildren. I’m certain they are forever grateful for this and for the time they had you in their lives. Aunt Elaine, we will miss your kindness and spunk. We are very appreciative of the time you spent to stay connected with your extended family, even though miles separated us. To my dear Uncle and cousins, please accept our most sincere condolences. Your pain and feelings of loss are top of mind for Don and I. We wish we could be closer to you to express our feelings directly. But please know, our love for you is heartfelt and strong. RIP, Aunt Elaine. You will be missed by all who had the absolute pleasure to know you. ❤️ - Posted by: Alison Harvey (Niece) on: Dec 02, 2023
