Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSE GABRIEL MELO
On November 27, 2023, at the age of 59, we announce with great sadness the passing of our loving son, brother, father and grandfather, Jose Gabriel Melo.
Gabe leaves to mourn his mother Maria, his brother Paulo (Jodie), his son Keith (Shauna), his daughter Brittany (Mark) and his grandchildren, Peyton and Callum, as well as his niece and nephew.
Gabe was born in Terceira, Azores on August 11, 1964, and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1973 with his father, mother, and brother. Growing up in the West End, Gabe built many lifelong friendships which helped him become the man he was known to be. Gabe was well known for his hard work, dedication to the business he built and the generosity he showed to those who knew him. Gabe had many passions, but his love for golf, fishing, and travelling are what stood out the most. There wasn’t a golf course or body of water that he didn’t like.
The family thanks all the doctors and nurses who helped care for Gabe over the years. All their hard work has truly been appreciated.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 10:00 a.m. in the Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Funny you mention water and Gabe. One of our great memories of Gabe is spending a week with him in Barbados. I can still picture him with a knife in his mouth swimming to dock and trying to get snails under the dock. He was successful. Also caught red snappers. We had a feast the next day with a couple from England. - Posted by: Lorraine podworniak (Neighbour/friend) on: Dec 01, 2023
