STEVE WILLIAM MARYKUCA

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Steve William Marykuca on January 9, 2024, at the age of 86 years, a loving husband, father and Gigi.

Steve was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret of over 50 years.

He leaves to mourn his three sons, Curtis (Maureen), Cory (Cindy), Steven (Kelly); his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Mason, Brayden, Abbigail and Wyatt, step-grandchildren, Zachary and Ethan and great-grandson Cruz; sister Elsie DeTurse, brother Ed (Daryl) Korpesho. Dad also leaves to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dad was predeceased by his father Steve Marykuca, mother and stepfather Anne and Nick Korpesho, sister Linda McClelland and brothers-in-law, Frank Deturse and Bob McClelland.

Dad was born in Poplarfield, Manitoba on October 10, 1937, which he remained until he moved to Winnipeg to start his life journey with our mom and eventually became the owner of Murray Tent and Awning which allowed him to meet various acquaintances that would also become his close friends in his retirement.

Dad will truly be missed for his great sense of humour, his passion for hockey and football and was an avid outdoorsman for hunting and fishing. Dad was also known for having an amazing knowledge for being able to provide historic information on one’s family genealogy within the Interlake Region.

As per dad’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of dad’s life will be held at a later date.
