It is with sorrow-filled hearts that we announce the passing Darcy Perry Wershler, at the age of 85, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Darcy was born in MacNutt, Saskatchewan, to Jacob and Louise Wershler. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Frances; his son Darren (Sandra), grandchildren, Max and Gus of Montreal; son Shane, grandchildren, Julia and Addison of Calgary; daughter Loree (Stephen) of Vancouver; siblings, Naomi Rithaler, Barry (Joan) Wershler, Cleve (Laura) Wershler. He was predeceased by his father Jacob in 1971; mother Louise in 1992; granddaughter Mia in 2019 (Loree); daughter-in-law Nicole (Shane) in 2020; and brother Wesley Merril in 2020.
Darcy enjoyed two full careers, first as an RCMP staff sergeant, and then as a corporate security manager with Air Canada, finally retiring in 2001. He was a caring husband, an affectionate father and grandfather, a loyal friend, a devout Lutheran and a true community man. He enjoyed a full and rewarding life, and lived it with honour and integrity. His spirit will be remembered, always.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Saint James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive in Winnipeg, with a reception to follow.

First knew Darcy when he was a young RCMP Constable posted in Minnedosa,MB and I was growing up in the Neepawa area...he was always most pleasant and well liked as I understand it.
