Beverley Ann Vargo passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2024.
She leaves behind her husband Clarke; daughters Cheryl and Alison (Chris); brother Claude (lrene); and granddaughter Helena. She was predeceased by her father Roy and mother Connie.
Beverley was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Charleswood. She graduated from Teachers College, where she met her life-long dear friend, Maureen. Later she moved to Ottawa raising her two daughters, Cheryl and Alison whom she cherished immensely. Beverley later returned to university and graduated from the University of Ottawa with a PhD in Psychology. Once she graduated, the family moved to Winnipeg, where she worked as a child psychologist for close to 20 years.
In her later years, Beverley met the love of her life, Clarke. They spent many happy winters together in Arizona enjoying the sun and warmth.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview for their kindness and caring and making Beverley’s last days comfortable.
Rest in peace knowing you leave this earth a better place because you were in it.

Alison: my heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family at this time. When my wife June passed away you and you and your mom were so helpful to me and my daughter in her being able to return to Canada . Although I didn't know your mom she was obviously such a nice person in so many ways. I had the privilege of working with Bev for many years in Fort Garry school Division. Bev was a true helper at heart. She worked tirelessly with families and students, teachers, clinicians and support staff. Bev made everyone feel special. She offered workshops on a variety of topics; one of her favourite areas was building resilience in children. Bev’s wardrobe was to be envied. She always looked her best. Dr. Bev Vargo visited our home in the company of our long term friend, Dr. Ying Hoh. I was surprised and pleased to learn that she had been a fellow Charleswood resident, and that she was the sister of my friend, Claude Brooks. Bev and I shared office space and were good friends when we both worked at Child Guidance Clinic for many years. She took her job as a School Psychologist very seriously, but we had lots of fun outside of work. We did theatre, shared birthday get togethers and went on wonderful educational trips. Please accept my sincere condolences on Bev's passing. I worked with her in the Psychology Department at the Child Guidance Clinic for many years. She was always the consummate professional and contributed to the well being of the entire Department.
