Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH MICHAEL KERCHIN
Kenneth (Kenny) Kerchin passed peacefully on November 16, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital.
Born September 15, 1946, Kenny was predeceased by his father Michael "Mickey" Kerchin, mother Constance "Connie" Kerchin, sister Joan Johnson, and nephew Cameron Johnson. Kenny is survived by his brother-in-law Kenneth Johnson, nephews, Scott and Sean Johnson, and niece Colleen Johnson.
Born in Winnipeg, Ken was raised in Norwood and was a gentle spirit known to many for his love for "everyday" things that brighten our lives. He loved long walks, going to the movies, fishing, train watching, and had a soft spot for animals. Kenny had a fascination with numbers and distance, but mostly enjoyed spending his time surrounded by family and friends, with a special fondness for gatherings and celebrations. Some of Ken's favourite pastimes were spending time at Grand Beach, swimming in the waves, attending the Red River Ex, The Forks, and the St. Vital Mall.
In 2000, Kenny found new independence through Simaril Supported Living, who offered love, inclusion, routine, and services for Kenny in his later years. Simaril helped Ken discover new friends and relationships, and his caregivers, roommates and friends' love and support are treasured beyond words. Though there are too many incredible people to mention, a special thank you to Lisa and Jeff for your kindness, care, and continued dedication. Kenny’s character and kind spirit were extraordinarily special - he will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.simaril.ca
