RANCELER (RANCE) RODNEY RUSSELL PRITCHARD

April 6 1942- January 16, 2024

Peacefully, on the morning of January 16, 2024, our Beloved (Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and friend) Rance passed away at Morris General Hospital at the age of 82 years, surrounded by loved ones, following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Rance was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 6, 1942, to Ranceler and Mary Pritchard. He loved exploring the countryside in Middlechurch as a child, and loathed being moved to the city and having to go to school. Rance was often seen hot rodding in the North End as a young man. He loved spending time hunting with John or Scott. Rance was often on the firing range and dodging bears with Don. He had a passion for classic cars and was likely to be found at any old car event in his 1941 Lincoln Zephyr. More that anything else, Rance treasured his time with his beloved Norma.

Rance was predeceased by his parents, Ranceler and Mary Pritchard, parents-in-law, Henry and Margaret Thiessen, brother Vernon, brothers-in-law, Rudy Comeault, Peter Zahirney, nephew Travis Zahirney

Rance is survived by his loving wife, Norma, children, Ryan (Viola) Pritchard, Nicole Pritchard, and Jenifer (Dawid) Chelkowski, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Zahirney and Brenda (Bob) McQuade; sister-in-law Linda Pritchard, four nieces and their families, As well as Norma’s extended family; his best friend of 55 years, Donald Ladanchuk. Rance also leaves behind a vast number of friends in the all of the circles he ran in.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Nguyen and the team at the Movement Disorder Clinic in Winnipeg as well as the staff of the Morris General Hospital for their loving and compassionate care given to Rance during his stay.

A Celebration of Rance’s Life will take place Saturday, February 3, 2024. at 1:00 p.m. Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Ave, Headingley, MB.
