Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY RONALD STANNARD
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harry, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
He is remembered by his son Derek (Tannis), daughter Kara and their mother Brigitte Stannard, and his grandchildren, Emma and Robyn. He also leaves to mourn his siblings: Sharon Fisher, Susan Melchior (Doug), Cathy De Leeuw (David), Art Stannard (Lynn), and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Catherine Stannard and his sister Maureen Stannard.
Harry had a kind heart and a cheerful disposition and always had time for a little chat. For those of us who frequently talked with Harry, he always had a story to tell and if at any point he said he was going to try and make it short, it was always long. He liked reminiscing about the good old days and fond memories of growing up at 969 McMillan and enjoyed the siblings’ get-togethers. He cherished the great memories of his cabin at Netley Creek, frequently enjoyed by friends and family.
Despite experiencing difficulties, Harry maintained an optimistic and happy outlook towards life. He kept in touch with many friends over the years and he particularly enjoyed time with his lifelong friend, Ken Holberg.
Harry’s friends, acquaintances, and the staff at Shelard Manor became his community and he often spoke on how much he enjoyed his time with you. He loved lending a hand to anyone who needed help.
HR, you will never be forgotten.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family ceremony at a later date.

Harry was always such a wonderful part of my days at the Shelard and spent hours chatting with me in the office while I worked. He was wonderful company, sharing stories of his youth and his family. I listened to his troubles and he listened to mine. He was a bright light in all of the staff's day, not just mine. We periodically kept in touch after I left but I didn't know of his passing until now. Harry, I have missed you and thought of you often over the years with a very warm heart. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Kate Morton (Former Assistant Manager, Shelard 2018-2019) on: Jul 05, 2024

Harry was quite a character and I have enjoyed knowing him even though we have spent little time together. He was always good for a story and a laugh. My brother Ken will miss him dearly. All the best to his family Sharyn Holberg-Newnham - Posted by: Sharyn Holberg Newnham (friend) on: Feb 04, 2024

Harry and I had been friends for over 50 years with lots of good times at the lake, going on trips (to Thunder Bay). Will miss my weekly phone calls and monthly lunches where Harry would go on about the latest happening at the Shelard. Although Harry had a few setback he was always positive about the future. He kept reminding me he would like to live to 92 that was his magic number. He like to talk about the past in the early years of our friendship our days at Globelite Batteries always came up. He had a really good memory for the past. Will miss him every day.. - Posted by: Ken Holberg/Carol Holberg (friend) on: Feb 03, 2024
