LAURIE OLENICK
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Laurie Olenick, on November 7, 2023, at the age of 80 years. Laurie was a loving wife, mother, nama, sister, aunt, and friend to so many.
Laurie was born and raised in Melville, Saskatchewan, with her three younger brothers. She lived in Winnipeg, MB, Kamloops, BC, Victoria, BC, and eventually settled in Brandon, MB, for the last 40 years.
She was a savvy business woman and business owner for the majority of her adult life. Laurie's loves in life were her gourmet cooking, taking in strays, and working with rescue Great Danes.
She will be forever missed by her daughters Niki Hardick (Richard), Tracy Gross (Patrick), and Tricia Shapiro (Allan), son-in-law Michael Galbraith, her many amazing grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers Michael and Martin, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Reginald, her daughter Carolyn Galbraith, and her brother Paul Jeffery.
A private memorial service was held for her immediate family members on November 16, 2023, in Fort Saskatchewan.
Our family is sincerely grateful to the many doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers that have helped Mom, especially the team at Rivercrest Care Centre in Fort Saskatchewan who supported us and our mom through her final days.
