We are deeply saddened to let our friends and family know that suddenly on February 5, 2024 Glen passed away. Predeceased by our mom and dad Jack and Eva Hill, sister Barb, brother Russell niece Hannah. Survived by his wife Mercy, sister Dolores (Craig), brothers Bill (Cindy), Doug (Keri), Dennis (Janet), and Ron. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who were truly dear to his heart and him to theirs.
Glen grew up in Charleswood and touched the lives of many people who still to this day tell stories of when he was their paper boy, or tales from Charlie’s garage and his bar tending days at the Legion. Always a friendly Hello or a What’s new Alice. Several years ago Glen moved to Sioux Lookout Ontario where he met and married his amazing wife, Mercy. His life was filled with hard work and happiness. Their door was opened to many folks that needed a safe and place to live, right to the end Glen was there to help those in need. He was a kind and gentle soul who we were honored to have as a husband, brother and friend.
Mercy’s homeland is the Philippines and Glen looked forward to spending time with family and friends when they were able to visit. Here are some kind words from his family in the Philippines. Papa Glen has been so generous to our family in the Philippines. It had been their vacation that we most awaited every four years. We were always excited and ecstatic to show Papa Glen our culture and to let him experience it. We’re happy seeing him happy. He has the most sympathetic heart: ibang lahi, pusong Pinoy is what they said. He and Mama Inday helped me throughout college, I graduated and topped my board exams thanks to them. He treated my siblings and I like his own, we too loved him like our own. We are forever grateful to have known and loved by him He will always be part of our lives and will be remembered our beloved Papa Glen.
Our families would like to thank the Medical Team in Sioux Lookout for providing the best possible care during this difficult situation. Thank you to our Family and friends for their unwavering support during this terribly sad time. Donations can be made in Memory of Glen to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
Mass will be held for Glen at Sacred Heart Church February 24, 2024, 10:00 a.m. Sioux Lookout Ontario. Celebration of Life is planned March 30, 2024 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Charleswood Legion, Winnipeg, MB.

Glen sat behind me in Grade 1 at Beaumont School in CHarleswood. We were the best of buds. One day as he was sitting behind me in class, he thought it was funny to write all over the back of my jacket in ink. Boy...My Mom was not happy about that. He was a kind hearted kid even back then. - Posted by: Sally Davies (childhood friend) on: Feb 25, 2024

Glen was a great friend and my favourite polka partner! Many nights were spent with all of us sitting around playing cards or bingo at the Legion. I have lots of great memories of those times. - Posted by: Wendy Layne (Friend) on: Feb 17, 2024
