Born on December 5th, 1952, on the island of Sao Miguel, in the Azores, Conceiçao grew up in her beloved town of Ponta Garça where she loved going to school. At a young age, she developed a talent for embroidery and crocheting that she carried well into adulthood, leading to her career as a seamstress.
In 1972 Conceiçao moved to Canada to live with her godparents Henrique and Fernanda with the ambition to work hard for a better life. In 1975, Conceiçao travelled back to Portugal to marry her sweetheart, Guilherme, after dating from afar for three years through letters. They moved to Canada to start a wonderful life together and were blessed with three daughters, whom Conceiçao always dressed in the finest fashions. She adored shopping for shoes and purses with her daughters and enjoyed dressing her best when attending church or family outings.
Conceiçao's pride and joy were her three grandchildren, whom she often cared for and took great delight making their favourite meals. As an active member of her parish, she dedicated countless hours volunteering to innumerable church celebrations.
Conceiçao will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Viewing will be held Friday, March 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish at 181 Austin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
