LINDA NANCY MCMILLAN

February 17, 1946 - February 25, 2024

I was born in Winnipeg and was adopted at three months by Jim and Sally Bingham. I spent most of my life in Manitoba except for nine years from 1956 to 1964 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I returned to Manitoba to take Psychiatric Nursing and graduated in September of 1967. On October 7, 1967 I married my childhood sweetheart Rob McMillan. Our dad’s met when stationed together in Montreal during the war and the two couples lived there together. Consequently, the families became lifelong friends. I returned to school and in 1991 graduated as a Registered Nurse. In 1979 I also received a Certificate in Adult Education. My working career included positions at Misericordia, Grace, MDC School of Nursing and HSC.

In 1998 I discovered that I had two half-brothers here in St. James! Sheldon and Darrell Dupont. Rob and I were very fortunate to have done a lot of happy North American, South American and European travelling over the years. I enjoyed entertaining, gardening, music, travelling and our pets.

I was predeceased by my parents and brother Nick. Rob’s brother Dennis (Marilyn), two dogs and five cats. Left are my husband and best friend Rob, two half brothers, Sheldon and Darrell (Bernie), Dennis’s wife Marilyn and their children, Nancy (Harry Hoff and girls), Hugh and Marcie.

No service, but if you think of me, please buy yourself a yellow rose, have a glass of wine and do one special act of kindness.

If desired, donations can be made to Winnipeg Humane Society or any other Animal Shelter.
