GWENDOLYN MARGARET DELMAGE

(nee DENNISON)

December 1, 1932 - March 9, 2024

Peacefully on March 9, 2024, Gwendolyn passed away in her sleep with family by her side on a rare rainy winter morning at The Osgoode Care Centre in Metcalfe, ON.

Born December 1, 1932, at Broomhill MB.

Predeceased by her parents Robert Clifford Dennison (1977) and Dorothy Thelma Watson Critchley (nee Cooper) (2003), her sister Glennis Deloris (1986) and brother-in-law Larry Heintz (1983), her loving husband Everett Colby (1928-2013) of 62 years, and her sons Barry Neil (1955-1956) and Robert Michael (1961-2019).

She is remembered as a loving and nurturing mother to Carol Ann (Cameron) Emond, Deborah (Allen Violini) McKeand, James Delmage, Leona (Frank) Jimmo, Kenneth (Susan) Delmage, Brenda (Steve) Blanchfield, Gloria (Randy) Dunn, and Karen (Leo Bisson) Delmage. Also leaving behind to mourn her loss are 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special cousin of Everett’s, Charles Lamb, and his family.

Finally, she passed the Dennison Matriarch torch to her only remaining much loved sister Evon Gloria (Gene) Blais.

Presented the Honorary Lifetime Member Award of the “Eastern Bird Breeders Association of Ontario” in 2018 for her over 40 years of dedication, her deep love for all birds, and her active participation in all auctions helping others with education about care and breeding of her speciality in “Goudian Finches”, canaries, budgies, cockatiels, ducks, turkeys, hens and even a peacock or two.

Her passion and love for singing classic country music, painting Parliament buildings and nature’s wildlife, flower and vegetable gardening or anything that would grow, and breeding chihuahuas will stay in our memories forever.
