  • It took me a while to find this tribute to Joanne, please excuse the delay. I can't believe that you were actually able to get her to stop moving long enough to take her Photo... My Wife and I met Joanne when she moved into the Royal Crest Apartments in the early 1990s. She had wonderful memories of the Block from her childhood in the 50s and was drawn back many years later. Joanne regaled us with the stories of her many adventures during our time with her. She was a very positive influence in our lives and we will miss her. Her love of animals and antiques was what drew us together. She was always on the hunt...from Furniture to Arrowheads she couldn't help herself. Golf and Curling played a big part in her life as well(of course). Joanne enjoyed her independence right up until the end. Driving gave her the freedom to adventure all over(although sometimes, she shouldn't have). We will always remember her infectious, whole-hearted and honest laughter as being one of her best attributes. Rest in Peace Joanne...(with a cat or two beside you). - Posted by: Robert(Bob), Ginter (Friend) on: Apr 03, 2024

  • My sincere condolences to Joanne’s family. The following is a short story from 40+ years ago… I first met Joanne on the golf course at Wildwood playing my very first mlga match play event. I had no previous experience playing match play so when we got to the 16th hole of the game. Joanne approached me on the Teebox and said did you want to go in to the clubhouse now or did you want to play in? Confused I asked her why would we want to go to the clubhouse when we’re not finish the round? Well, she said, the match is over. Oh, I said and who won? I did she said. Now blushing I congratulated her on her win. Walking back to the clubhouse she was so gracious and so kind and for that I was always truly grateful. In 1994 I also had the privilege of working with Joanne at Southwood. I reminded Joanne of that moment on the Wildwood golf course and how I knew nothing about matchplay or scoring the game or even rules for that matter. She smiled and said, Yes I knew that you were not aware of where the match was at,. In fact she confessed, the match had actually ended on the 14th hole There are many people along the road in the journey of life that make a difference. Joanne made a difference in mine.
