FRIEDA BETTIG
With great sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma, Frieda.
Our mom was one of a kind. She was an amazing cook and baker. Mom loved reading cookbooks, trying new recipes and her cookie jar was always full. She was a gifted seamstress and could knit a sweater with her eyes closed. Mom enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens and every year made her famous pickles and jams. For many years mom and dad enjoyed travelling extensively and regularly hosting family and friends.
In later years memory issues forced mom to slow down. Even though she could no longer do all the activities she once enjoyed, mom's kindness and grace, along with her familiar smile remained until the end.
Mom was predecessed by the love of her life, our dad, Henry in 2020. We find comfort in knowing that they are together again.
Thank you to the staff at Meadowood Manor for their care over the last few years.
As a family, we will be honouring mom with a private memorial.
Until we meet again mom,
love you to the moon and back.
