LINDA GARN
It is with heavy hearts the family of Linda Garn announce her passing on Friday, April 5, 2024. Linda was born on September 13, 1948, to Lily and Arthur Garn, the middle daughter of three. She was welcomed home in Heaven by her parents, older sister Doreen and infant brother John, all of whom she missed so much.
Linda spent her childhood in Lilyfield, near Stony Mountain where she loved playing on the farm with her sisters and many cousins. The family moved to Winnipeg in the early 1960s where she completed her education and began a 40 plus year career at CIBC. She began as a front desk clerk and quickly moved her way up to teller and over the years received promotions ending her career in small business loans. She was very creative and skilled in sewing and liquid embroidery in her younger years. She also loved road trips to visit her best friend in Red Lake, Ontario and helping at their fishing lodge, and enjoyed outings for dinner, trips to the casino and she loved her red wine.
A famous writer once said "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give". If that is true, then Linda made a great life. She was the most giving person we've ever known as she was always there for us to help in any way she could.
Linda leaves to mourn her niece Sheri (Tom, Kayla and Tyler), nephews, Jeff (Blaine) and Devin (Nicole, Isabella and Jillian) and sister Elaine, as well as many cousins, friends and extended family, along with her feline fur babies, Coco and Millie who miss her tremendously.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., Weston Memorial Community Club, 1625 Logan Ave. near Keewatin.

Linda was the cousin that was closest in age to me. We were only 6 months apart & as kids spent a lot of time together along with my sister Tannis & her sister Doreen & sometimes with cousin June too. In later years on our yearly visit to Winnipeg, we would make sure we made time to see Linda & go for supper & visit the casino which we both liked to do. I am going to miss Linda a lot & the time we spent together every year. Condolences to her family. - Posted by: Bonnie Skotniczny (Cousin) on: Apr 21, 2024

Linda and I met in 1987 when we worked at CIBC and became good friends. We along with Caroline shared many dinners and drinks over the years. I’m sorry and regret I never managed to visit her since I retired. I’ll miss our annual Christmas cards and telephone calls. Rest In Peace Linda. - Posted by: Barbara Welton (Long time friend) on: Apr 20, 2024
