CAROL JOYCE SUZANSKI

(nee MUZYKA)

October 10, 1948 - April 18, 2024

Carol passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre, with her family and close friends by her side.

On October 10, 1948, in Eriksdale, MB, the late Doris and Martin Muzyka welcomed their blue-eyed beauty, and third daughter, into their family. Carol leaves to mourn her siblings: Gloria, Marlene, Marvin (Winnie), Pamela (Louis), Barry. She was predeceased by her husband Doug, brothers-in law: Sam and Robert, nephews: Martin and Russell, and niece: Paytyn.

Carol was a classy, kind, caring and generous soul who loved spending time with her family, friends and her cherished cats: Dusty and Suzie. Carol had a fulfilling career as a nurse throughout Manitoba from 1969 to the late 1980s, when she was forced to retire due to ill health. She had the greatest heart for all animals, big or small. On April 24, 1999, Carol married her beloved Doug. They spent their years together enjoying life: going to the lake, enjoying bonfires while listening to country music, cooking and baking together was a favourite thing to do. She also loved weekly gathering with her bowling league friends. Carol always had spark about her that brought lots of laughter, and made fond memories.

Carol’s family would like to express a heartfelt thanks and gratitude to niece Sherry for her dedication, constant care and comfort to Carol. Thank you also to nieces, Stefanie, Wendy, Jessica and Dawn, and close friend Karen for always being there for Carol during the past few months.

Special thanks to St. Boniface Hospital, Dr Eng and 7A south staff for the exceptional care given to Carol during her stay.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Carols wishes are to please make a donation to a pet rescue.

  • I was honored to have been Carol's friend. Carol loved bowling nights, kicking her heels up with a lil' wiggle dance when she got a strike or spare. We all loved the goodies and dainties she'd bring for all to share. Ordering her chicken wings and bring her own honey garlic sauce. And, her spiked Diet Pepsi. She really brought people together, she was a loving, caring, generous, humorous, witty and completely authentic person. In memories, Carol will always be in my heart, our hearts. Rest in Peace you beautiful angel. I miss you! - Posted by: Karen Zabolotny (Friend) on: Jan 22, 2025

  • Carol has been with me and my family for the past 4 years, spreading so much love, spoiling everybody. she was the sweetest woman I have ever met. she made a big impact on my life for the better. She was so selfless with everybody she knew, bringing gifts every time we would see each other. Her hugs were so warm and she would always hug so tight, which made me feel so loved. She was always there to talk to, she would never judge anybody, she would give the best advice and listen to anything. the support she gave me was amazing, and I am so glad to have had her in my life for the past 4 years. Lots of Love to her family<3 - Posted by: Samara MacNab (Close Friend) on: Apr 23, 2024

  • Carol and I were workmates at sogh at the beginning of its opening in Jan or 1981. Many fun times and laughter! Carol was a hard worker, very quick and loved to do hair and makeup on the older women. She joked around a lot with the patients just to give them something else to think about instead of being a patient. I remember Carol for her eating salt and vinegar chips with a side of real vinegar. May you rest in peace Carol I know the last years were not so kind to you as you were to life ❤️ - Posted by: Linda MCMurtry (Friend colleague from sogh ) on: Apr 20, 2024

  • Sorry to hear about Carol, enjoyed working with her @ Seven Oaks. Never knew what she was going to come up with, always interesting. Hard worker and made nursing a joy, not a job! I’m sure she has lots of patients that will remember her smile and loving, caring nature. Rest in peace ❤️Betty. - Posted by: Betty Sutherland (Nursing partner @Seven Oaks) on: Apr 20, 2024
