The Krawchenko family, with sadness but with the promise of the resurrection, announce the passing of Husband, Tato, Dido and Great-Grandfather, Oleg Alexander, on May 13, 2024, in his 89th year.
Fr. Krawchenko is survived by his wife of 65 years Dobr. Maria, his five children, Olenka Krawchenko (Rick Mantey), The Honourable Mr. Justice John O. Krawchenko (Iris), Natalka Mayba (Dr. John Mayba), Lesia Kruk (Yury), Nadia Krawchenko-Chaput (Tom Chaput); 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Krawchenko family express their heartfelt thanks to Metropolitan Ilarion, Fr. Eugene Maximiuk and Fr. Krawchenko’s brother clergy, as well as the faithful, who kept him, and us, in their prayers during this difficult period. Be assured that your support and love are greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the doctors and nurses of the St. Boniface Emergency Department who, through the last number of years, have provided their professional advice, care and compassion to Fr. Oleg and our family.
To the new members of our extended family - Irnya, Yevgen, Serhii and Svetlana - the love and care which you extended to our Tato and Dido during these last months was exceptional. You embraced us all with care, compassion and concern. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
Prayers will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. with the funeral taking place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., both at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, 1175 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Both services will be live-streamed via the Cathedral’s FaceBook Page and YouTube Channel. Interment will take place following the funeral at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba.

Dearest Dobrodiyka, Olenka, Ivas, Natalka, Lesia, Nadia and families…We are so saddened by your loss and feel your heartache. May fond memories of your loving husband, tato, dido and great-grandfather give you comfort! We ask God to remember you all during this difficult time and to grant Otets Krawchenko eternal life in His Heavenly Home. He was well respected and has left an impressive legacy.
