Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH RAYMOND HORDICHUK
Peacefully on December 20, 2023, Kenny took his last breath in Maple Ridge, BC at the age of 80.
He is survived by his children, Aaron (Chelsea), Alisha, his granddaughters, Cali and Chloe along with several fur grandkids that he adored. Also survived by siblings, Ramona, Elizabeth, Iris and Francis (Jocelyn).
Kenny was a very talented drummer and was in many well known Manitoban bands throughout his life. His love of music was always present in his home with music always playing and sharing stories of his "band days". For those that knew Kenny well, those stories were never dull. For many years Kenny took pride in building the family cottage in Belair, MB. He put his blood, sweat and tears into "Villa Costa Lotta" from the 1980s until he decided to make the move to Maple Ridge, BC in 2016 to be closer to his son and daughter-in-law.
In Kenny's later years he experienced several significant medical difficulties and met them all with a fighting spirit, including cancer TWICE! He maintained his determination and desire to, "make it until 80, then I can go".
Well Dad, you did it! Well done!
A small Celebration of Life is being held in Winnipeg for Kenny's birthday - Saturday, June 15.

So sad to read this. I played together with Ken in a popular Winnipeg cover band in the early 70s. We played pubs and clubs all over Winnipeg and went on the road many times. I have never and will never forget Kenny. I can still see him, tall, long dark hair, fu-manchu moustache, deep voice. Ken was very fun and funny and really good hearted. He would play pranks ( stuffed a rag in my horn at a performance, I couldn't figure out what was going on ). Really really good with people, would make people feel comfortable. I was a lot younger, he didn't hold that against me, but would 'give it to me straight'. One of the most special and colorful people I have met in my whole life. Will always be grateful for having known him. - Posted by: Robert Muir (Friend) on: Dec 12, 2024

When I joined the Free Press, Ken was the one who brought me up to speed about the company and how to do the job. Ken also worked with my dad at GB and dad has fond memories of Ken. It was a sad day when I learned that Ken had passed. He was not just a good co-worker, he was a good man who was nothing but nice to a younger coworker like me. Take care and all the best to Ken's family. - Posted by: Kyle Holyk (Co-worker) on: Aug 18, 2024

In days gone by when we were much younger, we hung with Kenny and the group. Did Vancouver and totally enjoyed the scene. They never made it big, but they certainly were talented. R.I.P. old Buddy! - Posted by: Donald Tomac (old buddy) on: May 20, 2024

I remember Ken fondly. He played with us on many occasions while I was in Fyre n' Rayne. Always a lot of fun and a great drummer. Rest in Peace, Kenny, and I'm guessing there's a bit more laughter in heaven now. By the way, Ken...do you remember all the cream pies at the Red Oak Inn...poor Suzanne. - Posted by: J G Claude Hebert (Koko) (Friend ) on: May 18, 2024

Dear everyone in Kenny’s Family! We are sending you our heartfelt condolences! We are so sadden to have found out that Kenny passed away. We have such beautiful memories of spending time at “Villa Costa Lotta”! Sitting on Saturday night on an unfinished part of the cottage and listening to Boyd Kozak blaring Ukrainian music! That was Kenny’s style! Never a dull moment when we were with him and Shauna! We had so much fun! Once when they came down to Jamaica he surprised and shocked his friend from LA in one of the restaurants as Ken knew he was going to be there! He was witty, smart and full of love for everyone! Rest in Peace Kenny till we meet again! I’m sure You’re up there with all your other friends that departed and having a Winnipeg Rock and Roll Reunion! - Posted by: Myra and Moe Perko (Friends ) on: May 18, 2024
